The beautifully soft velvet topping and cosy stonewashed cotton on the underside is gorgeously cuddly. The edge is sewn to create a border and the velvet face has been precisely criss-crossed with matching thread to create a perfect geometric pattern. They are handmade by a small factory in Noida, India, with a dedicated workforce consisting of up to seventy men and women who are involved in varying jobs from accounting, merchandising and designing to production, cutting, stitching, finishing and packing. Apart from statutory wages, the workers celebrate Diwali together, and sweets are distributed along with gifts and a bonus for all employees.
